What Causes Brown Scab And Swelling Inside Throat?
I woke up this morning with they typical sore throat thinking that I just needed a glass of water because my throat was dry but the soreness continued i took a look in the mirrow to notice brown scab looking things on both sides of my throat along with white dots and it was really swollen I went to the local emergency room where I was tested for strep throat but she states that it came out negative and that it was a virus I had a narrow throat and I should goggle with warm salt water and take pain medicine around the clock but I m concerned about the things on my throat because it looks extremely bad

Viral tonsillitis resolves on its own in a week's time. Till then you can continue hot saline gargles and over the counter anti-inflammatory pills for pain / inflammation relief. In my view, if there is no relief or if the symptoms aggravate even after 3-5 days of home care, you should go for throat swab culture / antibody test to confirm causative agent and suitable drug and needful oral antiviral / antibiotic should be started. You need to consult an ENT doctor for personalised advice.
