I am 28 years old and had intercourse with my fiance for the first time a year and a half ago. I assumed that some bleeding was normal after the first time, then I noticed that I was leaving a small brown spot on the sheets every time after intercourse. All of my Pap smears have been normal. My fiance has had 2 other partners before we started dating who were both virgins. I have been on an oral contraceptive for the last 8 years. Could this be related?
Hi, Bleeding after intercourse needs investigation. If you Pap stain was clear then its likely that some friction may be causing the spotting. Any ulcerations on the cervix should be ruled out. Spotting while oc pills does happen but usually if there is irregular intake. Sometimes any local cuts etc may cause the spotting also. You should be examined by your doctor, so that any local trauma can be ruled out.
