What Causes Brown Spots Around Groin Area?

My son is about to be 16. He has some brown spots that have developed around the groin area. They started out pink, then turned a light brown color. They are flat, not itchy and there are no other changes in the skin. He is very fair skinned, red headed and has freckles on his face, these spots look kind of like large flat freckles... But they only developed recently... What could it be?

Hello,

Brown spots may be :

1. Fungal infection.
2. Mole or Rash.
3. Eczema.
4. Hyperpigmentation.
5. Pressure urticaria.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use moisturex cream locally. Please show to dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
