What Causes Brown Spots On The Skin Around The Vagina?
Hi, I have quite a few brown spots on the skin around my vagina, with about 3 on the outer lips. I ve had them for a week and a half now and for a moment they started to go away and now they are worse again. I have been with the same sexual partner for a while and it has been fine up until they appeared last week. My partner and I have not slept with anyone else and does not have symptoms himself. I want to know what these spots are and how to get rid of them. Thank you.
I understand your concern. Usually dark spots around the body most commonly on the vulva, labia, penis and scrotum are due to dilatation of blood vessels could be the most cause (Angiokeratoma)
Although they are harmless, as they may or may not present with complications such as bleeding and pain.
A Physical examination by a visit to the gynecologist will help confirm the diagnosis as it is important to rule out other conditions like a rash or STD and also identification of cause and appropriate treatment is necessary.
Hope this answers your queries, Take care, Regards, Dr Vignan Rachabattuni
