What Causes Brown Spotting Between Periods?

I am 22 year old. I have my period and im on birth control that go in the arm. I have my period every month but. I start having sign of pregnancies. Every time I go to the emergency room they don t do any thing but pregnant test. I have discharge that comes out brown. What does this mean. Please help me

Hi dear,
Hormonal contraceptives themselves can cause such spotting and menstrual irregularities. If UPTs are negative, pregnancy is ruled out.
If the bleeding is minor and no pain or other symptoms, we need not worry.Otherwise, kindly discuss with your gynaecologist to change the contraceptive method.
