What Causes Brown Spotting During Ovulation And Lighter Delayed Menstrual Bleeding?

I supposedly ovulated on 8/16. I got some brown spotting on the 22nd and 23rd which I thought could be Implantation bleeding. I then got my period on the 30th which was about 5 days late. My period was lighter than normal. Is it a possibility to test positive for pregnancy? I last took a test on the 29th which was negative.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suggested to wait for a couple of days and get a repeat pregnancy test done. HCG appears in the blood earlier than in the urine. You can get a blood test done also. Give the first morning midstream urine for testing in the lab. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an OBGYN.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
