What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After A Cervical Examination?

Hi. I’m 39+4 and had an attempted cervical stretch and sweep today. Unfortunately they couldn’t sweep as my cervix is closed but since I’ve had quite a lot of brown discharge. Does this mean that something could be happening now as I have had some period type pains too.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you have period type pain, then yes may be your periods are about to come. Do not worry. When you finish your periods, consult OBGYN doctor and get done PAP smear and per vaginal examination. If needed they will advice you transvaginal Sonography. At this age you should go for screening test for carcinoma of cervix.
