Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Non-penetrative Sexual Activity?
My boyfriend and I had sex twice in one day. Both times he pulled out with no condom. This was our first time using no condom and I have been on birth control for 9 months now. Then exactly a week later he fingered me kind of roughly and later that evening and following day my underwear had some brown discharge. I think I m freaking myself out but I have to be cautious. Is there a chance this bleeding was from the fingering or chance of pregnancy?
Its possible that there was some mucosal damage that led to bleeding. This can be the brown discharge that you noticed. If you have taken birth control for 9 months, it is unlikely that you got pregnant. However, no contraceptive is 100%, so I would suggest you take a pregnancy test to confirm. 2-3 weeks from intercourse.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
