What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Taking Levlan?

I tried to skip my period for a second time when I was on the Levlan pill in March I started getting brown discharge. If I wore a pad barely anything would come out but if i wore a tampon it collected more. I got really emotional so I stopped taking the pill and had light brown discharge for around two weeks and then got a prescription for Primolut. I ve been on it for a month and no longer have brown discharge but don t have my period either. I have very light clear discharge with light patches of red. I just want my period to come back like normal.

Hi,

You had taken prolonged course at a stretch of Levlen in order to skip periods over dose of pills can cause brown break through bleeding (and you had it). You tried to overcome this by starting another contraceptive of same combination the Primolut N. Irregular and prolonged use of the pills had given a break through bleeding again (due to hormonal imbalance).

This resulted in irritation of uterus clear discharge and red patches of blood in between. Please ignore and observe the symptoms. It may continue for few days. The routine menses can start after all the collected blood is over. Please consult your doctor if you have excessive bleeding.
