What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Taking A Birth Control Pill?
My 19yr old daughter taking birth control for first time. She is experiencing nausea, bad abdominal cramps, and dark brown discharge. She informed doctor at time she was prescribed the birth control she was having menstrual cramps but was told to go ahead and start the pills that day, which she did. She is taking Enskyce 0.15mg/0.03mg. Eating when taking pill helps some but it has been 5 days and she still has very little relief.
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. Sometimes, spotting or brown discharge occurs in the middle of your cycle, during ovulation.Certain types of birth control can cause brown discharge during your period, or even between periods. So it is normal, don’t worry. For the menstrual cramps I suggest you some pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
