What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge And Painful Intercourse?

Hi I m a breast cancer survivor with a complete hysterectomy ovaries were taken out in 2010 due to hormones being cause of cancer. Last January I quit taking anastrasole hormone blocker and started having a vaginally discharge immediately. The discharge is partially blood (brown) most every day. I soak thru 4-5 panty liners daily. The only thing left is my cervix. I ve not had a period for 20 yrs and am really concerned about the discharge as well as very painful intercourse

Hi,

Since you have had hysterectomy and ovarectomy, most probably you should be taking hormone replacement therapy. In its absence it can lead to dryness shrinkage and other problems aplenty. There are changes of vaginal infections which may be the cause of discharge. The painful intercourse could be because of vaginal dryness. You need to use water based lubricants a lot during intercourse.

Hence I advise you to get a complete examination done by your doctor in person. Be assured your problem will be solved soon. Do not worry!!
