What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge While On Implanon?

I started ortho tri cyclen in 2014 for three months and then I got implanon in my arm. I didn t have a period for the two-two and a half years I had it in but had heavy brown discharge for the last two months it was in. I had it taken out and the same day I started mononessa. I ve been on mononessa for maybe 5-6 months now and I ve never missed a pill. In April I took it 8 hrs late and decided to take plan b. After taking plan b I didn t have a period for April, and may I had a period but it was late and irregular. A week ago I took one pill 3-4 hours late but I ve never been late besides that. I just finished a pack yesterday and on my 7th placebo pill I had VERY LIGHT spotting which was light pink/brown Today I had very light spotting again which was dark red then faded away I ve taken 5 pregnancy tests which were all negative and today I started a new pack What is the chance I m pregnant? My pharmacist said I would know on my last placebo pill if I took a test and it was negative Does mononessa make periods irregular or stop them? Before I started birth control i had irregular periods but I wasn t sexually active then. Thanks

Mononessa is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It is common to experience spotting and missed period while on oral contraceptives. However, since you have history of not taking the pill on time, it is better to repeat the home pregnancy test after few days to be sure to rule out pregnancy.



If the test is still negative, then it is unlikely that you are pregnant. If you experiencing missing period for 2 months back to back, please be advised to follow up with your OB-GYN.
