Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! I have a question. My last period was on 11/23/16. On the day I expected my period (12/21/16) I started getting brown discharge for a week. It was light and sometimes spotty and sometimes smudgey. I thought at first it was the beginning of my period, my red blood never came. I took two pregnancy tests, one on 12/31 and one one 12/24. Both were negative. There wasn t any odor or pain (as I m sure infection is on the table). I stopped taking Sronyx birth control pills in October. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Brown vaginal discharge is usually due to passage of retained of blood or endometrial tissue for some time inside the uterus. Since you have experienced it for a week, it would be better for you to undertake trans-vaginal ultrasound scan (TVS). Kindly consult Gynecologist along with the report for clinical and per speculum examination and further course of management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
