What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharges With No Bleeding During Menstruation?

hi um I just had a question regarding my birth control I am on the birth control previfem and I had started taking my birth control at the end of July and I stopped taking my sugar pills instead I just went and I started the next pack with the active pills. I missed one active pill and started my period and then the next day I started taking the active pills that i missed at the regular time and I stopped bleeding and now I have brown discharge I was wondering if that was normal? I read that it could just be dried up blood which is what it looks like. Its just like what you get towards the end of the period cycle

Hi,

Brown or dark colored discharge is common with birth control pills and it will settle by itself.

If symptoms persist, you have to consult a gynecologist to rule out conditions like bacterial vaginosis or thrush, which can also present with brown discharge.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
