What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting After Removing Mirena?
I had my mirena removed in December and didn t have a period for 3 months. Then I had a normal one in march and then April I spottted brown and then may normal and now I ve been spotting brown discharge for a week what should I do?! Should I be worried about my thyroid or pcos or anything? I don t have any pain or anything.
Hello, Thank you for your query. Periods can be irregular for upto 6 months after removing Mirena. I suggest that you wait for Another 2 months. If afterward you are still spotting, see your OBGYN to check for hormonal imbalances. In most cases, it will right itself. If not a medicated cycle to regulate periods can help. If that too doesn't help, I recommend : -ultrasound abdomen -blood tests (complete blood count, Thyroid stimulating hormone, prolactin levels, estrogen levels).
Based on this, treatment, if necessary, can be initiated.
Else nothing to worry. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you there is any thing else I can help you with. Wish you good health
