What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting After Taking Medroxyprogesterone?

Hello, I was given medroxyprogesterone 10 mg to take once a day for 10 days to delay my period. I ve noticed the first 3 days taking it that I have had brown spotting, but I m having more spotting than I expected. I am supposed to start my period on the 31st and I took my first pill on the 27th. I had the spotting an hour after I took the first pill on the 27th. Does this mean it is not working? I am just curious if the spotting will go away if I continue to take the pill.

Hi, I think the spotting will go away with time. May be you started the pills a little late. That's why it happened. If you get excess discharge or bleeding, you can double the dose for 3 days. It will stop the bleeding. Consult your doctor for proper prescription.
