What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting During Menstruation While On Iron Supplements?
I recently had a blood test and found out that I am anaemic. I am on iron supplements for a month now. My periods this month doesn t seem normal. I started noticing brown discharge at the time of my periods and it s now followed by very scanty blood flow(almost like spotting) and this has been going on for almost two weeks now. Is this related to the iron supplements?

Brown vaginal discharge may be a normal finding as the blood at times look brown especially while wiping the area which is an old blood. There is nothing to worry about it. Please review the complaint prolonged spotting with your gynecologist ignoring the brownish discoloration.
