What Causes Brownish Discharge And Sore Throat After Taking Postinor 2?
Hi Doctor, I m 22 years old. I self diagnosed myself with UTI last week (due to cloudy urine and strong smell like ammonia). I had unprotected sex last night and I took a morning after pill (Postinor 2) in the morning. After about 12 hours, I notice some brown discharge and dark coloured/brown urine. I m also down with flu and mild sore throat. My period is actually due yesterday but I haven t gotten it. Please advice. Thank you.
Strong smell of urine with brown discharge indicates vaginal infection with Trichomonas or Chlamydia most likely via alteration in vaginal pH level and flora homeostasis. My guidelines at present: - Drink more liquids - Cranberry sachets or citralka syrup - Avoid sexual intercourse till recovery - Vaginal hygiene care - Culture swab and saline microscopy of the vaginal discharge material in a microbiology lab - Prescription of antifungal (as fluconazole) with antibiotic as metronidazole with or without fluoroquinolones as levofloxacin or others if there is no history of drug sesnitivity
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
