What Causes Brownish Discharge During Menstruation?
My last period was on July 26 - July 31st. I am usually irregular but now I am late for my regular cycle. Last week I wiped and a line of blood appeared but nothing else. I didn t get anything till Friday when the same thing happened wipe and some blood came out but nothing on my pad. Now I am experiencing some brown discharge when I wipe but nothing else. Is that considered me having my period or something for me to be of concerned of?
You did not mention how irregular you are in your cycles. If your cycles are prolonged, your ovulation time can be predicted most often. This is because ovulation occurs two weeks prior to the onset of the next period in usual cases. In your case, the delay and the subsequent spotting are more likely to be due to hormone imbalance.
If you are sexually active, please exclude pregnancy also. Local causes like infections of the cervix and vagina, erosion of the cervix, cervical and endometrial polyps are other causes of spotting. Sudden weight changes, stress, polycystic ovaries etc are some other causes which need to be excluded.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
