Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I notice my sperm was not the normal yellowish color and did not had the usual smell. It looks brownish like it was mixed with blood. I have not had sex in about a month and a half. This is the first time I masturbate after all this time and notice this. Thanks
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Brownish semen or looking like mixed with blood indicates two things: 1. Infection of the testis, which needs to be ruled out. 2. Urinary tract infection, leading to bleeding from the infected mucosa. Kindly get evaluated for urinary tract infection by getting a Urine Routine examination. If there is any abnormality, further you need to get a urine culture and sensitivity. You need to contact urologist for further course of management. If it is normal, then you need to see a Surgeon to look for infection in the testis. May be you may need an ultrasound of scrotum to look for any other abnormality. Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best and wish you good health.
