What Causes Bruise And Pain In Lower Leg And Swelling In Ankle?
I got hit with a softball very hard in the lower leg. It s bruised really bad and is painful but the inside of my ankle is swollen really bad and is starting to bruise but the ball didn t even hit there. People are suggesting an x-Ray but I m not sure. Very painful to walk and put pressure on though
After After going through your question, I can understand your concern.
There is possibility of - - Impending cellulitis of lower leg and foot infection of soft tissue. - Compartment syndrome due traumatic inflammation of soft tissue which cause swollen muscles and other soft tissue which cause rise in pressure inside lower part Of leg and foot. Which causes pressure over nerves and blood vessels which may cause severe pain and bruises. - Vascular injury in lower part of leg. - Fracture.
You should consult orthopedician immediately for detailed clinical examination depending upon it there may be need for X-ray and Doppler and Ultrasound of leg and foot.
Depending upon it appropriate decision can be taken. Use sosome pain killer with anti-inflammatory like diclofenac with serratopeptidase.
Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
