What Causes Bruise On Elbow With History Of Traumatic Brain Injury?
I have a very dark circular bruise on the inside of my right elbow. My joints have been very sore and I am tired all of time. I sustained a tbi 2 years ago which I thought might be causing the fatigue. This bruise came out of no where and it is not sore.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Most common cause of bruise formation is trauma. However, a history of trauma two years ago is unlikely to cause bruise now. Bruises on body are caused by disorders of coagulation pathway after trauma is ruled out. Thus, relevant investigations are required to rule out disorders of coagulation like platelet count, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time are required to assess the coagulation pathway. Sore joints are suggestive of inflammation of the joints. Joints are inflamed in viral infections. Is there history of fever in recent past? If yes then viral infection is the most probable cause of sore joints. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and thus further management.
