What Causes Bruise On Inner Thigh?

For some reason I ve had a small bruise on my inner thigh. I haven t had sex for over a year, I couldn t have hit something, and I don t drink. I take 3-4 medications (seizures, mood/depression, appetite, GERD, anxiety) everyday. I ve had it for 4 days and it shows some signs of fading which is odd since I heal very quickly. It doesn t hurt at all when I poke it. Should I be worried about this?

Routinely we don't get such type of bruises on inner thigh as coagulation of blood is regulated, any alteration in this can cause skin bleeds even on usual pressure on skin.

In view of focal unexplained skin bruises, I would suggest you to get some routine blood works, bleeding time BT and prothrombin time (PT with INR) tested to check out coagulation status of your blood.

These bruises could be subcutaneous petechial hemorrhages.This are tiny hemorrhages that occur in skin giving rise to bruise like appearance.But the clinical examination of bruises will confirm the diagnosis.

So,you should not ignore it but yes,i would say there is nothing to be worried much.

And hence there are various causes for this and needs clinical examinations and investigation to find out the cause.

It would be a good thought to get this symptoms evaluated by a doctor who can guide about the investigations.

Complete evaluation is needed in cases like yours as there is always fear of internal bleed.As you are also taking medicines for seizures,depression,appetite,GERD and anxiety.

Doctor might give you shot of vitamin K , this can prevent such bleeds.

So,consult physician or dermatologist for one time evaluation and rule out any blood disorder.
