What Causes Bruised And Swollen Vein In Wrist?

Today my wrist suddenly started to throb and itch after I was lifting some reams of paper. When I looked down the vein was swollen and the area around the vein was swelling. That was about three hours ago. Now the swelling is still there but there is a bruise where the vein is and the area under it is black and blue. My hand is tingling and numb.

Hi,DEar,thanks for your query to HCM.I studied your query in depth.1-In My opinion the bruised swollen vein-is most probably caused by the poisonous spider bite- which caused-Acute Thrombo-phlebitis-2-I would suggest -Tb NSAIDs-and Tb-Cetrizine with -Thrombophobe oint locally for relieving it-which could subside in next 2-3 days time,if treated as above.3-Hand numbness is due to the acute cellulitis - involving the nerve supply running around vein and would need Tb serropetidase for 2-3 days -for its releif along with Tb-Bplex forte.4-Hope this would solve your query.5-Wellcome for any more questions on new or this subject also...Have A Good Day..!!
