Sudden eyelid bruise without touching or injury to it. It appeared reddish in color above the eyelid. Also have had this before, but it was black and quite large. They disappeared withing hours or the next day. I feel very much concerned about this occurrence. Thanks! E
Bruise forms when soft tissue in the body is crushed but the skin doesn't break. When this happens, blood from broken capillaries (small blood vessels) near the skin's surface may leak out under the skin. You can apply ice as soon as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
