What Causes Bruises And Petechie In Elderly Woman?
my mother 68 years old ,she complain of brusies & petechie CBC show thrombocytopenia (70000 per microliter) HB 13 g/dl WBCS 6.7 *10^3 , differential: granulocytes: 39% &lymph 52.5 % Ultrasonography show normal size of liver &spleen liver function are normal & Hepatitis c antibodies are negative & ANA are negative Antiplatelet antibodies are ++

Bruise and petechiae associated with low platelet count can be there after viral illness also..
It will improve with proper hydration and diet..
It could be an autoimmune disease also as the anti platelet antibodies are positive..but not very sure as their role in dignosis and prognosis is limited..
Do consult a general physician for proper evaluation and treatment if required.
