What Causes Bruises On Arms And Legs Along With Body Itching?
I have been having some unexplained bruising on my arms and legs about glof ball size and dark. Now my whole body is itchy (about a month between symptoms), and now the buises are covered in red pin dot like rashes. I otherwise feel fine. Is there an immediate concern? I had bloodwork (unrelated), about two weeks ago. The itching started about three days ago. Ive noticed the bruising in the last month. No new recent med change except advair was added. Thank you in advance.
Bruising in the skin is called ecchymosis. It may be purpurin dermatosis. There may be some cause. Either internal or external. You have itching too. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. After thorough examination and investigations,he might come to some conclusion.
If some cause is found,he may give treatment to cure the cause. Then, you may be relieved. External causes may be trauma, friction, dry skin, senile age...etc may be kept in mind.
Antipruritic drugs like levocetirizine may be taken. Vitamin C and K may be helpful. On the ecchymotic patches, thrombophob ointment may be applied.
I hope this would help you.
Thanks.
