Hello,
The following are few causes of easy bruising:
1) Old age
2) Medications usage for instance, NSAIDs like
Ibuprofen, anticoagulants like
Warfarin,
Heparin, anti-platelets like Clopidogrel
3) Very low platelet count
4) Vitamin k and c deficiency
5) Liver diseases
6) Bleeding disorders like hemophilia
The following are few treatment options for bruising:
1) Resting and elevating the injured area to prevent swelling and to relieve pain.
2) Applying ice packs for the first 24 to 48 hours after
injury. Wrap a towel around the ice pack and use. Each session should not be more than 15 minutes at a time. Repeat the process.
3) Applying warm compresses to the injured area after two days, several times during the day.
4)
Vitamin C and K supplementation
5) Checking for any low platelets by blood tests
6) If any of the above medications are in use, you need to reduce the dosage by informing the prescribing doctor.
If excessive bruising persists even after 1 month of using vitamin supplements, you may need to see a physician for further evaluation of other causes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
