I have been diagnosed with morphea scleroderma about 5 years ago. I have a lot of spots that look like bruises. I m having trouble with upper legs, and didn t know if this would affect me this way. Family Dr. thought maybe hip joint, socket, but xrays came back ok. Just having a lot of pain walking.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the bruises are in concern with the auto-immune response of body to underlying scleroderma. The pain while walking is secondary to tissue fibrosis and scarring
rather than joint involvement (hence X-ray is normal). The systemic cortico-steroids come to play very vital role in this type of conditions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
