What Causes Bruising And Numbness At The Site Of Injection?
hi, I had my sixth baby 10 days ago and had an injection to contract uterus in my thigh. Injection site is now feeling slightly bruised and numb skin around it also. I can also feel something like a pinch that doesn t hurt when I walk. is this normal? haven t had it with previous babies. also had mmr vaccination in arm and has numbness occasionally . is this just bad blood circulation?
As there is bruising and numbness at the sight injection it can be due to the following reason: 1. Bruising occurs due to rupture of small blood vessels by the pricking needle leading to spillage of blood into the soft tissues and forming a HEMATOMA..
2. Numbness occurs due to injury or pricking of the nerve fibres by the pricking needle leading to numbness..
You can apply Thrombophob gel at the bruised area for reducing bruising.. Do alternate hot and cold compresses.. Numbness will subside as the nerve healing will take place but the time is mostly unpredictable and it can rang from a few days to weeks or even months and years but mostly complete recovery takes place..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards..
