Hello,
You had a
laparoscopic surgery done recently. You also had a previous
caesarean section done. You are having swelling and bruising above the C - section scar. It can be due to infection, do not touch or pop the scar. Sometimes, infection can also get triggered due to excessive fat layer under the scar. Avoid
carbohydrate and sugar to help infection heal faster. If diabetic control your blood
glucose level at al cost.
Take home made nutritious food to boast and strengthen the weakened immune system. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist / surgeon, to detect any
redness, swelling or pus formation, wound evisceration or dehiscence of the wound. If there is pus in the region it will be drained out gradually to reduce irritation. A swab sample is ideally taken to gather the culture present in the wound and sent to the lab for analysis.
Wound evisceration or dehiscence of the wound will be accordingly treated. The wound will be cleaned and antiseptic dressing done. You will be given a course of antibiotics if required. Get it cleaned and dressed alternately. Take as much rest as possible. If you are hurting you can take
Acetaminophen, one SOS when required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
