My Primary Opinion-
In My opinion, in the given situation you seem to suffer from-high platelet counts / or from
bruise of Vein during vein pricking/and negotiations.
Other causes like-Hughes disease-from anti-
phospholipid antibodies Syndrome inducing clotting- needs to be ruled out.
The pain after needle removal, seems to be from leakage of blood and effusion in
subcutaneous tissue,which causes induration and inflammation.Hence it is swollen and hurts you.
Reply to specific question from you-
Q-Is this normal?
This is not normal,but needs to be treated with Thrombophobe ointment.Other causes need to be ruled out,after getting more details from you.
