General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some redness and swelling on the wound edges are normal. On the other hand, redness and swelling can also be signs of secondary infection of the wound. If you have any fever or fatigue or if you notice that the redness is more than 1 cm from the edge of the wound or the wound is oozing, this may be due to infection and you may need oral antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
