General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Yes, it could be a fracture or severe muscle injury

I recommend :
-a physician consult
-x-rays of the injured area
-apply ice over the swelling.
-keep the injured leg elevated above hip level.
-blood tests (complete blood count, Creatinine levels, myoglovin levels)
-urine analysis.

Please also drink plenty of water.

Based on the above, a diagnosis and treatment will be Initiated.
I urge you to seek medical attention right away. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Hope you feel better soon
