Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor Rynne, Thank you for your time and attention. I am a 52 year old female with what seems to be spontaneous bruising over my hips. They are unusual bruises, quite extensive. multiple long streaks of small purple raised bumps as though I was scraped by a rake. 3 weeks ago it appeared on my right hip and then gradually absorbed and now its on the opposite side. They do not hurt. My sport is ballroom dancing and by profession, I sit all day in a chair. I have been training 4 nights a week for a competition. Sadly, I have a history of polymyositis in 2006 and the pathology report on the muscle biopsy at that time said that the changes were more consistent with polydermatositis. Could it be that or some kind of bruising related to the dancing? Please say: dancing!! I have worked hard for my health:-)
