What Causes Bruising On The Abdomen Of A Newborn Child?
My nephew was born 2 days ago and today they noticed brusing on his side. They told my brother that there is fluid around his liver and two specialists have only seen it once in the 37 years they have been practicing. What could this be? They have done x-rays and MRI s and still have no idea.

Bruise noticed soon after birth can suggest either bruising from a difficult labor (in vaginal delivery) or a hemangioma. Regarding the fluid collection around liver, it is difficult to comment without going through the reports.
