General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The problem you have about the episiotomy sutures. Even after 3 years of child birth. Do you remember, how painful it was in early marriage days. After episiotomy, if due care of the sutures is not taken and bold approach is not adopted after 3 months of the procedure (episiotomy). There is fibrous tissue formed at the incision and then the intercourse becomes difficult (like you).
Now you have to try and make the part elastic with hot/cold water bath, applying oil massage lightly before bath and before sex. Similarly lubricant applied to penis before sex would ease the act. If this is not practicable. Your gynecologist would help you out by dilating the vagina with instruments. Consult a gynecologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
