What Causes Bulging And Collapsing Of Veins In The Arm With Pain?
About 4 months ago the veins in my arms started to bulge out (about the diameter of a pencil). When I raise my arms the blood rushes out of my arms (like a cup of water being dumped) and the veins collapse into my arms and leave tracks (like a straw being sucked dry). Was also getting a stabbing pains associated with it. Now 4 months later it goes in cycles. For about a week my veins are normal (can't see them). Then I wake up one day and they are vissable this lasts for about a week or so. Then a week later the veins are the diameter of a pencil and it lasts for a few days up to a week. They colapse in throughout all of it though. Doctors that I have seen don't seem to have any clue or idea as to what it could be. Their eyes get really big and say that they have never seen or heard of anything like this befor. Any ideas?
In normal course of action veins of upper limbs collapse on raising the arms and veins fill whenever arms are lowered. Regarding weekly exacerbations or off and on filling and emptying of veins , you may be having labile hypertension or under stress off and on.
