What Causes Bulging Fontanelle In An Infant After Giving Amoxicillin?
my baby girl is a six month old, she has a cold and cough, on wednesday the health center gave her vitamin A and on the next day i gave her amoxicillin drops and Rhinodec drops for infant then on afternoon i observed that her fontanelle bulge but she does not have a fever, she was just fussy then on the next day her fontanelle went back to normal. what is the cause of her bulging fontanelle? is that normal?
In children fontanelle (Considering Anterior fontanelle) closes by 18months of age.
A small bulge in anterior fontanelle during excessive cry, vomitings, cough, sneezing is common and not harmful. But it ll settle down when baby becomes calm. In your child's that bulge seems normal.
But tender fontanelle, a persistent bulge in fontanelle because of improper circulation of fluid covering the brain. In those kinds of situations, you should worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
