Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son, age 16, just pointed out that the end of his right collar bone (closest to his throat) is sticking out much farther than the left. He does not recall an injury. He competes on the varsity soccer and alpine ski teams but had minor knee surgery 4 weeks ago and has not been allowed to participate in any sports. No pain but it is definately of concern. Any idea what may have caused this?
This could have occurred during a tackle or multiple tackles which can cause a chronic injury. If it is causing painful or decreased range of movements if the shoulder then it would be best to get X-rays to find out if it is a dislocated acromioclavicular joint.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
