What Causes Bulging Vein Leading To Discoloration In Left Leg?

I have a vein on the on the inner side of my left leg that just recentley started to bulge and has discolored and is starting to look quite angry. I had a stroke 10 years ago and now I am on a lot of medications, my question is should I take this as a serious condition and respond to it quickly or is it something to do with my age, almost (69) should I see my doctor immediately or can I wait for my regular exam which is in 6 months?

Hi.
bulging of vein at this age is usually due to weakness of the valves of the veins in the legs, and is called varicose veins.
you have not mentioned the gender and medications.
mostly it occurs in women after menopause and with aging it occurs.
you should visit your doctor for further assessment.
for now keep your feet side of the bed a bit elevated while sleeping.
and do not stand still for long time. further treatment can be given after assessment. thanks
