Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small bump about an inch behind my temple and an inch above my ear. its about the size of a pea, tender with moderate pressure that causes me to be slightly nauseous. my initial thought is that its a lymph gland/node but then paranoia sets in and Im concerned its a blood vessel about to explode or tumor. have an appt at the end of the month - just curious if I should get in sooner.
I do not see any serious cause for concern, and think this could be a cyst or an inflamed and/or infected follicle. Although I cannot be sure at this point of time without an elaborate evaluation, and I would recommend a doctors appointment but it can wait till the end of the month.
In the meantime, make sure you do not irritate it the lump and you can also try a hot compress to the region.
Best wishes.
