What Causes Bump On Frenulum Of Tongue?

I have a bump on the frenulum under my tongue that recently appeared. There is no pain, it's about 1/8 inch wide on each side of the frenulum, and it is pink like the rest of my mouth. I was wondering the treatments, possible causes, what it could be, and the severity. Thanks.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain small painless bumps on frenulum of tongue can be due to a few reasons like..

It can be simply due to injury caused by eating any hard and rough food items leading to rubbing against the delicate frenulum causing inflammation and bumps.

It can also occur due to allergy to any food product or any medicine if you have taken.

It can also be due to initiation of canker sore in that area which has not ulcerated yet.

The most common reason is the injury caused by hard or rough foods.

You need not to worry and can wait and watch, they will resolve themselves.

If it does not resolve and the size increases consult an oral pathologist for evaluation.

Hope your query is solved..
