Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A friend cut above his lip while shaving. He now has a bump about the size of a pencil eraser that is flesh colored, no redness or sign of infection. He saw a doctor at the school clinic and they lanced it with a needle as it looks like it has pus in it, but nothing came out. He is using antibiotic ointment and said they called it some form of tissue knot. Any ideas what to do next?
Hi, Since your friend is applying antibiotic ointment so no need to worry about infection. Taking analgesics like paracetamol 650mg 2 times a will reduce pain and inflammation. Taking serratiopeptidase tablets will fasten wound healing .
However, consult a doctor before taking these medication. Kindly keep the wound clean by using betadine to clean it and apply an antibiotic ointment on it. If the swelling and pain keep increasing , consult a physician for systemic antibiotics immediately.
Thanks. Dr.Riyanka
