Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have bumps on the back of my tongue. I thought it was candida Appalachian. I've been on the candida diet and lost over 30 pounds in a month. I've been eating salad and probiotics. The bumps are not clearing up. My test for bacterial vaginosis came back positive. I'm concerned what the bumps back of my tongue. Help!
As per your query bumps at the back of tongue can be due to inflamed and hypertrophied tongue papillae that are Circumvallete Papillae present at the back of tongue.. They are however already raised structures and not necessarily swollen.. Also conditions like infection in mouth, acid reflux, post nasal drip etc can cause swollen bumps at the back of mouth.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation should be done.. You can do warm saline gargles.. If there is pain take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
