Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have developed a skin condition in the past year. I have little bumps between my breast. They are not a rash or pimples. They have progressively increased in area covered overall and are now visible when I wear v-neck tops. I have gained weight. Could they be related to raised sugar levels, blood pressure, or cholesterol? Can you give me some insight as to how I can treat them?
Be hygienic, take bath regularly. Cold compress may help. Clean the skin between the breasts with antibacterial soap to free them of sweat and moisture caught. Get clinically examined, it can be fungal infection due to warmth and moisture in the area. In case of fungal infection, apply ointment clotrimazole on the affected area.
You can also take a course of antifungal medicines. However, you are advised to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get mammogram and breast ultrasound done to rule out underlying breast condition, mastitis, or developing breast cancer. If it is due to mastitis, it can be treated with antibiotics. your treatment will depend on the pathology diagnosed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
