What Causes Bumps Like Moles That Later Turn Into Large White Holes?
my six year old is getting these bumps on her leg and arm that kid of look like little moles or zits that when left alone turn into large white holes that when squeezed a hard mass comes out. i didn t think much of it when she got the first one as i literally thought it was a mole till it got big and the top fell or split off leaving the whole with the stuff inside but now she is getting more.
It looks like Molluscum Contagiosum. It is commonly seen in children but is highly contagious. Abstain her from scratching the affected area or it will spread at a very fast rate. Do not let her share her personal items with others. Help her maintain hygiene.
A skin scraping or biopsy confirms diagnosis. Sometimes in children it goes away by itself. If the infection is resistent she may require to go through laser therapy, cryo therapy or curettage. Get her physically examined. In the meantime you can apply Condylox (podophyllotoxin) oitment locally.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Nupur K,
