Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have white and red bumps on both sides of my tounge seems to be spreading have had for 3days also now having a sore throat on only the left side throat looks bumpy and red hurts really bad to swallow.. also gums above front teeth where the lip meets the gum looks like it is red and infected also??
As per your complain red and white bumps over the gums along with inflammation of the mucosal surfaces along with sore throat seems to be most probably due to viral infection. I would suggest you to consult an otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat and oral swab culture, saliva culture and blood test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
In case of viral infection it will resolve once the virus completes its life cycle in human body. You can be advised supportive treatment to relieve pain and inflammation like doing warm saline gargles, gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, take multivitamin supplements, avoid spicy and hard foods. Take Ibuprofen to reduce pain and inflammation.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
