What Causes Bumps Under The Eye Socket?

Hi, I recently noticed (accidentally while rubbing my eyes), that there is two ball like bumps under my eye but right above my cheek... basically where my eye socket is. They feel very round and slightly move. One is on the bone right under my tear duct and one is on the bone on the top of my cheek right below my eye. Can anyone tell me what this is? They are not big but I can slightly feel something there when I touch that area.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to eye cyst or chalazia. Most often, chalazia go away without treatment after a few weeks to a month. To help the cysts heal, you can apply warm compresses to your affected eyelid for 10 to 15 minutes at least four times a day. This treatment may soften the hardened oils in the cysts, helping them to drain.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
