General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the burning and itching rashes around hernia-mesh placed area, do indicate significant under-lyng disorder like:
- Fungal infection with Tinea corporis
- Contact dermatitis through undergarment strip or else
- Uncontrolled blood sugar as diabetes or others
In my clinic after thorough clinical examination, I do recommend:
@ Culture swab report of the rash
@ Anti histamine tablet
@ KOH preparation with wet mount film

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
